This is a really quick and easy sweet sauce to make and everyone with a sweet tooth loves it.
The following makes easily enough to pour over four desserts.
- 110g brown sugar
- 100 ml double cream
- 40g butter
- 1 tbsp golden syrup
Melt the butter in a small pan over a low heat.
Stir in the sugar, syrup and cream.
Keep stirring until the sugar dissolves.
Bring the sauce to a gentle boil.
Let it cool a little if you’re using it for a cold dessert, such as ice cream.
I couldn’t get double cream so I used whipping cream – it was just as good. Are you confused about cream?
