Suet isn’t always easy to find in SE Asia, so when I spotted some of this dumpling mix in a Kuala Lumpur supermarket I thought it was worth a try. It’s easy enough to prepare, just add water, mix, make into eight balls, and add to soups, stews or gravy for 15-20 minutes.
For those with allergies
The mix contains wheat and gluten.
It turned out OK and was easier than making fluffy dumplings without suet (which can be done). The texture was very good but they tasted a bit “packety”. I would buy them again if I were desperate for dumplings but not if I had the option of buying suet and making my own.
