Don’t try this at home!
A young German chef has blown off his hands by trying to cook with liquid nitrogen at home in the style of Heston Blumenthal. You can read the full story here.
For anyone who has been living on another planet for the last decade or so, culinary alchemist Heston Blumenthal is famous for his ground-breaking techniques in molecular gastronomy. He’s won many awards, including Michelin stars, and even an Honorary Royal Society of Chemistry Fellowship.
You can read his biography on the BBC website.
Heston is known for his revolutionary techniques, including cooking with liquid nitrogen. And trying to follow suit is what has cost the young man both his hands.
