Thanks for your comment and recommendation.  I had a look at the veal farm&#039;s website and it certainly does look good.  I&#039;d love to try it but I&#039;m not currently in the UK.

I think there is a big move back to more artisan food products both by producers and consumers.  On a recent visit to Scotland, I was delighted by the range of local produce available - beef, lamb, fish, cheese, veg.  It seemed as though everything had been grown or reared on the doorstep of our host&#039;s house.  Such wonderful food!

I can&#039;t remember when I last ate so well as we did during our trip to Caithness.  So much food elsewhere is mass-produced and often mediocre.  It&#039;s wonderful to find small producers and cottage industries raising the standard.</description>

That changed last year when I managed to hear a producer speak at the BBC Good Food show, he was one of the main speakers in the Slow Food UK stand and described how he reared his high welfare veal. I must say having tasted it there and been able to hear him and see pictures of the production I was a convert. I&#039;ve been getting a fairly regular box from him now by mail order and it&#039;s great stuff. I would recommend him to anyone, really old school little farm on a small Scottish island doing something new and rearing his animals ethically and obviously really had a care about what he was doing. Try them out!</description>
