But it's old news - it appeared in the papers back in June 2009, and the Government appointed him about a year before that. Normally I'd be queuing up to praise <em>Private Eye</em> for their exposés - and I think they were right to draw attention to HB's easy ride in the press. But dragging this up as if it's fresh news is lazy sensationalist journalism and smacks of kicking a man when he's down. Are we allowed to talk about lunatics and asylums these days? ;-)

I see that Private Eye picked up on this in their 16-29 October issue. But it’s old news – it appeared in the papers back in June 2009, and the Government appointed him about a year before that.
